I am in B. Sc (biochemistry) final year. I want to do M. Sc in bioinformatics. I would like know about the institutions offering this course.

Some of the institutes and universities offering this subject as diploma, degree, or post graduate degree are:

Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bangalore

Advanced (graduate) diploma in Bioinformatics is offered by the Bioinformatics Centre of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi

Madurai Kamaraj University,Madurai, has a bioinformatics programme and advanced diploma in bioinformatics at its School of Biotechnology.

The University of Pune, Maharashtra offers an Advanced Diploma in Bioinformatics at its Bioinformatics Centre.

Bioinformatics Institute of India, Noida (U.P) - offers a one year distance learning course in Bioinformatics, Biomedical Informatics. Please visit their website www.biionline.org

I completed M.Sc (Microbiology) from Osmania university. I would like to do Ph.D abroad in New Zealand, USA, Germany or UK. Please guide how to proceed further.

Santhosh Kumar. H You need to first choose the country of preference by the reputation of the university, facilities available for research, course content, course cost and cost of living. You have to apply to various universities and find out if they will accept research scholars. You will need a guide and along with the guide a mutually accepted topic will be determined for your research project. Some universities may offer some funding. You will therefore have to a lot of spade work to do before you can shortlist some universities. Also you need to be aware of the visa rules for each country, though it may not be difficult to get a study/student visa, some countries are known to have refused visa to students also.

What are the prospects for MBA in tourism management? What are the chances for getting a job abroad after completion of this course?

Tourism is a rapidly growing sector. With the cost of air travel both with in India and international coming down due to competition, the sector is set to witness increased flow of tourists.

Jobs are available all over the country. Tour operators, tour and travel agencies, star hotels, airlines and cruise companies employ management graduates.

If you have knowledge of a foreign language and know about holiday destinations, topography, transport facilities available, culture and history of a particular country, rest assured you can get a good job abroad also.
