Making computer or video games is an emerging field in India, with ample career opportunities. A computer game is the outcome of a developmental process involving several stages. These stages are designing, getting the storyboard ready, programming, creating the virtual environment, characters, graphics and animation. Experts in C++, Direct X, Open GL, Photoshop, 3ds Max, Maya are involved in the process. You can enter this field with training to work in any one of these stages. National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad (www.nid.edu)offers postgraduate diploma programme in design in graphic designing. Admission is through Design Aptitude Test. The duration is about two years.
