Fund-raising concert
SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL is an NGO for professional women committed to serving the community and working with women worldwide. Its second branch, The Soroptimist of Downtown, Chennai, begun recently, has undertaken several new projects such as health camps in orphanages and education opportunities for dyslexics and underprivileged children.
It has more ambitious projects in the pipeline and hence the club is organising a fund-raising concert — a recital by Nityashree, on August 10, at 6.00 p.m., at Rajalakshmi Hall, Dr. M. V. Jayaraman Convention Centre, MVJ Towers, 177/1, Poonamallee High Road, Kilpauk.
