A starry, starry night
There are film awards and film awards and then there is the Chitra Premi Awards, which has been recognising talent in Kannada films and telly for the past 20 years. The awards are decided on audience choice. Last year, Nanna Preethiya Ramu won for best film while Darshan took home the trophy for best actor. This year there are more than 45 categories and janta can send in their choices for categories like actor, actress, film, choreographer, playback singer and TV serial to Chitra Premi, No. 105, Mill Road, Cottonpet, Bangalore 560053.
This year Knock Out, from SABMiller India, in association with the Kannada Chitrapremigala Okkuta is presenting the awards. Vinod Giri, Director Marketing, SABMiller said: "We view our association with the Chitra Premi awards as an opportunity to felicitate not only the artists but also those who have worked behind the scenes in the making of the films. Through these awards, we want to promote the Kannada film industry."
