US ready to assist Pakistat in fight against terror

Washington (PTI): With Pakistan suffering from a series of terror attacks in the last few days, the United States has said it would continue to work with Islamabad to fight terror elements seeking to spread "instability and chaos".

"We continue to work with Pakistan to fight our common enemy (terrorists) who kill Muslims, Christians... anybody getting in the way of their efforts to create instability and chaos," Acting State Department Spokesman Gonzallo Gallegos said.

He added that Washington would back the new government in Pakistan as it was elected by the people there. "...we have spoken regularly and often about our commitment to the Pakistani people. The people have made their decision on who their leaders will be. We stand behind them and we're working with them," he said.
