Statistics as a profession is just gaining recognition in India.
Candidates with a specialisation in the subject may find
employment with government or quasi-government departments,
public and private undertakings, industrial concerns, research
institutions and establishments dedicated to higher education.
The Indian Statistical Institute is the pioneer institute in the
field of statistics. A network of service units in Statistical
Quality Control in major cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi,
Calcutta, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Tiruvananthapuram and
Baroda also recruits statisticians. There is a specialised
documentation research and training centre in Bangalore, which
employs professional statisticians. Other options open are
teaching or academic research for specialisation.
I have completed my M.Sc (botany) and B.Ed. Presently I am
working as a teacher in a private school. What are the other job
