I completed M.Sc Chemistry. I got CSIR-UGC/JRF but because of serious health problems, I cannot do regular lab work. I am not interested in regular teaching jobs as they are stressful. What are my other career prospects?

Irshad Ali

Any regular full-time job, of any nature, requires you to spend minimum eight hours at office. Considering your health conditions, it might not be possible to devote so much time. Commuting, nature of work, working conditions and work pressure are the other factors that can turn out to be stressful. So, it is better you opt for some job which you can do from home and is not stressful.

One such option you can consider is e-tutoring. There are a number of online coaching websites conducting courses in various subjects and at various levels. You can register with one of them, undergo the short-term training they offer and start teaching.

While registering, you specify the timings you are available to do the job along with some mandatory personal details. You must have a computer with the configuration and software they specify, an Internet connection and some equipment like digital pencil and digital writing pad. The number of sessions you take depends on your ability and their requirement. And your earning is based on your work. One such site is www.etuitions.org.
