Personality ties up with Disney
Personality Limited, the owners of Weekender and Weekender Kids brands has tied up with Walt Disney Consumer Products to market Disney's characters Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Donald & Daisy Duck, Pluto and a host of others that are immensely popular among children.
The merchandise including apparel and accessories featuring the popular characters were launched recently, according to a statement issued by A. Sekhar, centre manager of the Weekender showroom. Targetted at boys and girls in the age group of 2 to 12 years, the apparels and accessories will initially feature Mickey and Minnie Mouse and later extend to other popular Toon characters.
In 1987, Personality Ltd., launched the Weekender brand of clothing, a label offering contemporary fashion for youth in the age group of 15 to 25 years. Today, Weekender has grown to over 40 exclusive outlets across 30 cities apart from its presence in leading multi-brand outlets.
The company has an in-house design team, merchandisers, sampling unit and a production facility which enables it to launch new collections very frequently. The company sells about one million Weekender and Weekender Kids garments, valued at over Rs.40 crore, annually, says Sekhar.
The kidswear consists of `Mickey Revolution' apparel and accessories for boys and `Velvet Underground' apparel and accessories for girls that include sweatshirts, trousers, denim jackets, printed denim bottoms, vests and skirts. The accessories include caps, bags, pouches and belts with prints and appliqués of Mickey and Minnie.
The Weekender Kids, an exclusive kidswear brand was launched at 25 exclusive stores in 1992.
It was the recipient of the `Most popular kidswear brand' award by Images.
