UTTER THE word Awadh and you are reminded of tehzeeb and a cuisine that is truly Lucknowi. A range of kebabs and biryanis, mostly meat-based cooked in the `dum' style, are the mouth-watering offerings from the region which make the non-vegetarians crave more and the vegetarians long for the unusually delicious taste of a few dishes.
Taj Tristar (Seven Hills, 1-1-40, S.D. Road, Secunderabad) however comes to the rescue of all veggies. The Dakshina Mandapa restaurant presents `Awadh Food Festival' which offers authentic vegetarian cuisine made in the Lakhnavi/ Avadhi style.
During the festival, vegetarians could indulge in delicacies like Aab-e-bahar, Katahal ke Kebab, Chaat-e-adab, Kofta Pulao, Warqi Paratha, Paneer Birbali, Lazeez Shabnam, Subzi Dum Pukht Biryani and Meva Guchche ki Biryani. The meal can be rounded off with yummy desserts like Gulkand Ras, Seb Jalebi and Annanas ka Muzaffar.
