MGM Beach Resorts, ECR, is organising a Punjabi food festival at its Seacrest restaurant till August 16. Called `Ramta da dhaba,' it will pay tribute to the jawans of the Indian Army. As part of the festival, a bhangra performance is being organised.

The Society Restaurant at Ambassador Pallava, 30, Montieth Road, Egmore, is hosting a Nadar festival till August 20, 7.30 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. Besides traditional dishes made using the typical spices of the Nadar cuisine, the buffet includes the melt-in-the-mouth Tirunelveli halwa. Seven, the multi-cuisine restaurant at Comfort Inn Marina Towers, 2A, Ponniamman Koil Street, Egmore, is presenting `One India Different Cuisines' festival featuring veg and non-veg dishes, on August 15 for lunch (12.30 p.m.-3 p.m.) and dinner (7.30 p.m. and 11 p.m.), to mark Independence Day.
One can sample cuisines from across the country at the buffet such as paneer balti from the North-West, Iromba of Manipur, subji soya from Arunachal Pradesh, kadala kari from Karnataka, cabbage foogath from Goa, Erissery from Kerala, Awadhi egg biriyani from U.P., Madras chicken Chettinad and mamsam pappu from Andhra Pradesh. GRT Grand's Copper Point will present "Telugu Vaari Bhojanam" till August 20. The menu, which has a variety of traditional dishes, will give the diners a complete experience of the fiery and exotic cuisine of Andhra.
Seasonal herbs, native spices and a special menu have been arranged for a wholesome experience. Culinary expert Suguna Rao and her team of chefs have hand picked traditional recipes from different regions of the State. Bommidalu pulusu, cukka pethala vepudu, Kakinada peethala iguru, allam kodi, gongura kodi, pesarattu kora and mullakada mamsam are some of the specialities.
