School children paint greeting cards to bring cheer to cancer-affected children
|
It is an endeavour with a difference. And it is called Add Colour to Cancer Child to Child Assistance Programme.
It involves nearly 20,000 children and 95 schools in Coimbatore who have painted Diwali and New Year cards.
They have done this with crayons, paints and most importantly with utmost concern and fellow feeling for children who are fighting cancer.
The Vasantha Memorial Trust has launched this programme in order to raise funds to bring hope and cheer into the world of the cancer affected.
Proceeds from the sale of the cards painted by the school children will be used to light up the life of cancer victims.
The cards are priced at Rs 10 each and they are available at the Free Cancer Help Centre, 165 Nehru Street, Ramnagar, between 6 p.m and 8 p.m on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
