“Dandiya Garba Raas” at Taj Connemara on October 6

The Rotary Club of Madras organises the popular “Dandiya Garba Raas”, a fund-raiser for community service on October 6, 7 p.m. onwards, at Hotel Taj Connemara.
It is an occasion to capture the festive spirit through the famed dance form of Gujarat.
It will mark the start of Dussehra/Navaratri and will lead on to Diwali.
Besides entertainment there will be an authentic Gujarati dinner, especially planned for the occasion by Taj Connemara.
For donor passes contact 98410 14925 or 98410 17173. Over 500 men, women and children (about 250 families) distinctly attired will participate in this fun-filled programme.
The “Dandiya Garba Raas” will feature a live band playing traditional and catchy numbers and everyone present will join the Kolattam. (traditional Gujarati garba and dandiya raas).
There are many prizes to be won in the dancing competitions and lucky draw.
The money raised will be used for the various community service projects of the Rotary Club of Madras such as Rotary Nagar, Polio, Boys Town, Eye Bank, Public Convenience, Senior Citizens Home and Tsunami Relief.
