Melody reigns supreme

Audio release of “Vazhthukkal”

The hall at Hotel Green Park was crowded with VIPs from the Tamil film industry. But the absence of artists such as Madhavan and Bhavna who have worked in Amma Creations’ film “Vazhthukkal” was conspicuous. Director Seeman was seen receiving the guests. Karthi Chidambaram released the CD and Thamizhachi Thangapandian received it. The speakers included Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Rama.Narayanan, Pyramid Natrajan, Na. Muthukumar and Balu Mahendra.

What’s the film like? When asked, Seeman said “Vazhthukkal” was a film for the entire family. “It has sentiment and entertainment in the right measure. I can boldly say there is not even a tinge of vulgarity in the dialogue. Neither is there any English word in it. The film also provides some food for thought by conveying a message – we should be affectionate towards others and take care of our parents. The film has enjoyable music and beautiful visuals.” Madhavan said he was always safe in the hands of director Seeman. About their association he said, “We vibe very well. When he offers me a project, Seeman knows what I can do and makes me do a better job as far as acting is concerned. In this film, I play an industrialist, and Bhavna, a student of agriculture. We love each other and the director has made the scenes interesting.”

The film was shot in Chennai, Kovai and Kerala, and in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka. The music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the songs are written by Na. Muthukumar.

The cover of the CD carries details only in Tamil such as Adhirvi Parai (Drums) and Kooduthal Isai Visai Palagai (Keyboard). There are seven songs in the album and all are melodious.

‘Muzhumai Nila’, written by Bharathidasan, is sung by Sriram Parthasarathy. ‘Enthan Vanamum Neethan’, sung by Haricharan and Mahathi, and ‘Chinna Chinna Kanavugal’, sung by Swetha and group, are good. The lyrics for the song ‘Pookal Rasithathu’ by Haricharan are meaningful. ‘Ummala Asaipattu’, rendered by Sri.Pa.Pa.Charan and Anuradha Sriram, is a mass song. ‘Kannil Vanthadhum Neethan’ sung by Haricharan and ‘Enthan Vanamum Neethan’ sung by Ragul and Rajalakshmi are two different numbers though the first line may sound similar.
